Community Guidelines

Last Updated September 1st, 2025.

Uplift was created to be a safe space where people can express themselves anonymously, connect with others, and feel supported. Most of us come here because we want to be kind, to listen, or to share something that matters. These guidelines are here to help make sure that Uplift stays respectful, inclusive, and supportive for everyone.

We ask all users to follow these guidelines while in support rooms, and to encourage others to do the same. If you ever see someone violating them, please report it. Our team will step in when needed.

Note: You must be 18+ and not in severe mental distress to use Uplift.

šŸ†˜ If you or someone else needs help, reach out.

We’re all here to support each other. But it’s important to know that Uplift is not a crisis line. If you or someone else is in immediate danger or crisis, please don’t use the app,Ā instead, visit our Hotlines & Resources page to find help in your country.

  • Avoid giving medical advice. Share personal experiences and coping strategies, but remember you’re not a doctor.

  • If someone may be in danger, encourage them to get help from a medical or mental health professional.

āœ… Be kind.

Kindness is the foundation of Uplift. We’re all different, but everyone deserves compassion and understanding.

  • Use supportive, inclusive language. Uplift welcomes people of all genders, identities, and backgrounds.

  • Share your thoughts, but also give space for others to speak. Don’t flood the chat or dominate the conversation.

  • Respect other people’s opinions and experiences, even if they’re different from your own.

  • Give Kudos when someone says something helpful or supportive, it’s a small way to say thanks and keep the good vibes going.

āŒ Don’t be mean.

It should go without saying, but just in case:

  • No bullying, harassment, hate speech, or harmful behavior of any kind.

  • Do not pressure, insult, or threaten others ever.

  • Respect the anonymity of others. Never ask for or share personal information.

  • Repeat offenders may be banned. In serious cases, we’ll use a one-strike policy for immediate bans.

āŒ Don’t be creepy.

Uplift is a support space, not a dating app. Let’s keep it safe and appropriate.

  • No flirting, sexual comments, or inappropriate behavior.

  • Don’t share personal contact info like your phone number, social handles, or real name.

  • Don’t ask others for personal details. Respect everyone’s boundaries.

If someone’s making you uncomfortable, report it — and we’ll step in.

āŒ Don’t be disruptive.

We want everyone to have a smooth, positive experience on Uplift.

  • Don’t spam, distort messages, or try to bypass moderation tools.

  • Don’t make multiple fake accounts or try to exploit the system.

  • Don’t use bots or automated tools on Uplift that includes scraping, auto-posting, or anything that overloads the app.

  • Don’t post or share anything that infringes on copyrights, trademarks, or other people’s rights.

  • Don’t create or use third-party apps or extensions that interact with Uplift without permission. If you want to contribute ideas or help us build something, reach out!

āš ļø Trigger Warnings

Some rooms may contain sensitive content. Hosts and moderators can add trigger warnings to alert you before entering. Please respect these warnings and feel free to flag if one’s missing. If a topic is too much for you, it’s okay to leave the room, take care of yourself first.

⭐ Kudos & Recognition

You can give Kudos to show appreciation when someone says something kind, brave, or helpful. It’s our way of highlighting positivity in the room.

  • Don’t misuse the Kudos system (e.g., giving yourself Kudos through other accounts).

  • Earn them through genuine participation and support.

ā³ Room Limits

To keep things fair and sustainable, there’s a daily limit on how many support rooms you can open. This helps prevent spam and encourages thoughtful participation.

If you’ve hit the limit, consider joining another room or checking in again tomorrow.

šŸŽ–ļø Supporter & Moderator Roles

Some users will have badges next to their names, such as:

  • Supporter Badge — Verified users who support the community.

  • Host / Moderator — Users who help lead and maintain safe conversations.

Please respect their role in keeping the space safe and constructive.

šŸ›”ļø Moderation & Reporting

Moderators and hosts can remove users who break the rules or make others feel unsafe. If you see someone crossing the line, report them through the app or email us at info@ctrlaltfixtech.com.

  • We review every report and take safety seriously.

  • Users who violate our guidelines may be warned, suspended, or permanently banned depending on the severity.

  • In extreme cases, no warning will be given it’s one strike and you’re out.

šŸ’¬ Final Word

Uplift exists because of you, the people who show up to support each other, listen without judgment, and remind others that they’re not alone.

Thanks for being part of this community, and for helping make it the safe, supportive place it was always meant to be. ā¤ļø
